FAQ

Will making a claim raise my insurance rates?

It depends on the type of claim and your policy—but many legitimate claims should not increase your rates, especially when:

  • You were not at fault
  • You’re using No-Fault (PIP) benefits you paid for
  • Another party caused the injury

Insurance companies often suggest rate increases to discourage claims, even when the law doesn’t support it. Understanding your rights—and your policy—helps prevent fear-based decisions that can cost you far more in the long run.
